I'm a bad blogger.....I'll fess up to that!
That said, I find myself with more time on my hands these days & that's for one very important reason....it's SUMMER & I'm a teacher, so that would make sense.
The school year came to a close about 2 weeks ago, it was a great year & I'm now happily enjoying my time off. What am I doing with all my time off you might ask, my answer is pretty simple: whatever I want! ;)
On a daily basis I clean, pick up around the house, cook fabulously delicious meals & some not so fab. I'm always much more able to cook more elaborate dinners during the summer because I actually have time to do it, so I try new recipes all the time, some I keep, some I toss, but all in all it's usually a fun experience. I really do love to cook & just wish I had the time & energy to do it during the school year, but I don't.....so my "cooking" during the SY usually consists of spaghetti...........
One other thing that I've found I have much more time for is running. About a month ago I made the decision to run the full marathon here in SA in November. I've said it a million times that I NEVER wanted to run a full, but I figured....might as well, so hopefully my body can endure the training & I'll accomplish this goal on Nov. 13th. With that said, training has already started. Lake & I run with a training group that's run by the Roger Soler's store in Stone Oak. Our runs usually take us through Hollywood Park, Hill Country Village, Stone Oak, the 1604 feeder road & the Huebner area, so if you're out driving one Saturday morning & you see me, feel free to honk & say hi...if I look I'm going to pass out, feel free to stop & get me a gatorade! ;)
So that's it, life is great, it's summer, things couldn't be better. While I'd love to say that Lake & I have some grand trip in store....unfortunately we don't. Last weekend however, I was able to go to Rockport & Port Aransas with some girlfriends & have a very relaxing, laugh filled weekend! :) Other than that my plan is to enjoy my time off, enjoy the fact that my brother & his family are now living in SA, enjoy my extra time with the hubs, enjoy a few days in the Valley with my parents & my besties, enjoy a few day trips to SeaWorld & Schlitterbahn (fingers crossed), enjoy time with all of my friends (teacher & non-teacher friends alike!), & enjoy my 29th bday at the end of next month. So....here's to Summer!!!
